My husband and I go to Pieces literally way too much! We play lots of boardgames and this was definitely the place that helped us start our own collection and be excited for. We have been to other places in Chicago and honestly pieces is still our favorite.

My first visit at Pieces was a birthday gathering for family. It's a unique concept for social spaces that actually suits the St. Louis scene well. The Soulard location is great, but if you're not familiar with the city, I can see how someone may pass it up or wouldn't know where it was. The staff is friendly and willing to help. I like the different rooms decked in colors and games with intimate setting. The main bar area seems to be the gem, while being the liveliest part of Pieces. The food is pretty good. The drinks are festive with gun choices - the shots great!

This is such a fun place overall! Some feedback from our group that I got on it was: 1. The drinks are quite sweet (which most of us liked) and there's not a lot of alcohol in them. 2. The food is pretty average. It's not fantastic but it's not bad - it's just there. 3. They add gratuity in there for ya which is a turnoff we tip (well not here because they decided that for us ick) 4. Their selection of games is great! Quite expansive. 5. We'll be back for trivia and hope it's good

I always have a great time at Pieces. We went with our out of town family over the thanksgiving holiday and we all had a great time. We were there from about 5:30pm until they closed. We had drinks, appetizers, entrees, coffees, teas, and desserts. The food was a bit of a mixed bag but all okay. The drinks are good. The giant pretzel was a hit but the queso tasted burned. The table liked the sliders and enjoyed the tacos (not pictured). The cookies were good, but we wished they would heat them up. That would take them to the next level. The games are so fun and there are tons of choices. The staff is great about helping guests pick out games that will be enjoyable for the whole table. Our server was great. They do it a little differently though they don't always check on you unless you put up a little handle thing from your table to signify you want to order. It's nice so you can play board games undisturbed. It was a great time. We will be back! Just probably won't order the queso again.

Pieces has great service and is such a unique spot for people to enjoy. Tried: spinach & artichoke dip, pork potstickers, summer sendoff mocktail, watermelon mocktail Loved: the board game options and set up of the restaurant. I also loved the mocktails - they had a lot of options and the two I had were very good Liked: the food is okay, but nothing special to me

My boyfriend and I absolutely love board games, so we thought this would be the perfect date spot for us! We visited on a Saturday morning for brunch, and we put our names on the waitlist. We only had to wait about 30 minutes. Parking was a little bit tricky due to Pieces' proximity to the Soulard Farmers Market, but luckily we finally found an open spot. Because it was our first time visiting, the host gave us a very informative tour about the overall process. He explained how the games were organized and what to do with each game after you're finished playing it. I love how they have a whole section of local board games created in St. Louis. Additionally, every table has three small sticks that include different colors. One color is for asking a question about a board game, a different color is for ordering food, and a third color is for receiving your bill. This seemed to be very efficient and simple. Whether you're ordering food/drinks or not, there's a $5 per person library fee that gives you access to all of the games. For every item that you order on the menu, $1 is deducted from the fee. Because we ordered a total of 7 items, our library fee for the two of us was only $3. We asked one of the servers if they had any murder mystery games. She ended up consulting with some other employees, and she eventually brought over three different options to our table for us to try. She even took the time to explain each game to us! Everyone went above and beyond to ensure that we were having a great time. The drinks were wonderful. They have lots of fun alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. Personally, I tried the Peach Bellini and the Creamsicle. Both were perfect. My boyfriend ate a breakfast bowl, and I had a caesar salad wrap. One of the servers went out of his way to bring me a side of potato chips, too, which was very kind. Brunch was delicious, but I would love to check out their dinner menu next time I visit! We ended up staying for about three hours. There were plenty of 2 person games to choose from, but this is also a spot that I could spend the whole day with a group friends! I truly can't wait to go back.

I recently visited Pieces Board Game Bar and Restaurant and had an incredible experience. And let's not forget about the nachos - they were absolutely delicious and I couldn't get enough of them! I find it absolutely incredible when you can have a drink and have some games in public. This is a wonderful spot for friends, young ones, and family. Anyone who's interested in thinking outside the box when it comes to games and drinking this is the spot. Such a large selection of board games, Rubik's cubes, and card games. The facility was clean and had parking near by. The staff was happy and the prices were reasonable. Highly recommend.

Another unique find in St Louis that I wish we could recreate in my hometown! We were excited to have wandered in on a Tuesday night, which was free game night. For us, no wait; however, I noticed Yelp offers a "join waitlist". Pieces has a full menu. We'd already eaten dinner and were more focused on the desserts and hot chocolate. Sadly, both of these items were disappointing. The cookies were hard and overly sweet (even for a cookie) and I'm pretty sure we were drinking packets of Swiss Miss. Despite the miss on the sweets, we loved our experience and were in awe of the WALLS of board games. Their board promotes an investment of $21,000 on board games. They do a great job organizing the games, including staff picks, family games, more adult games and 2-player options. We had the best time playing games and laughing with our teen sons. The space offers a laid back, casual vibe that makes you want to linger. When you are seated they will ask for your credit card to keep on file and start a tab. Street parking available. The building isn't obvious and tucked into a corner (we passed it twice with GPS). Check out their events and menu online.
